Gift of Caring Gift Card Program

 Each year at Thanksgiving and Christmas, the DJ Basin Safety Council hands out gift cards to families within our community that may need a little extra help. The gift cards include a letter from the Oil & Gas Community in the DJ Basin, to brighten up the holidays for those in need. This program allows our industry to give back to our communities. In the last 12 years we have been able to make a great impact on individuals in our communities at the holidays, distributing anywhere from $5,000 to $8,000 a year to those in need.  The program started with the mission of donating these $25 gift cards at a time when a meal for Thanksgiving and Christmas, or a few gifts under the tree might be hard for some of those in our communities to do. 

2020 & 2021 have both been especially hard years for everyone. Our annual Clay Shoot Fundraiser for 2020 was postponed, and our 2021 event was much smaller than previous years, but both years we have had some very generous donations from some of our valued members, and we were able to donate $5100 worth of gift cards into our communities this holiday season. We are ever grateful for the support and commitment of our industry to the communities we live and work in.
